My Progear No Arashi 14mil run (mameplus 0.125) is uploaded here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=KRW0SUEVDidn't have access to superplays when I was playing and having just watched nj's video in the resources I could do much better, especially on stage 1. The run ends on the last boss with a shockingly bad stage 4.

I'm back from my third and final Trade Show this month, and its Manic week eh?! I'm not a specialist on any of these three games, at all. Hardly touched them. I'd prefer the long haul Garegga and think we'd all fare best on it. Icarus is a specialist on it and I'm sure that another two of us can do something on it. I will vote Garegga regardless. If Progear is chosen, I will put up a 1 loop and not care about score (won't be bothered with scoring on that game ).

It's Doujin Week, not Manic Week, this week, by the way.

If Progear gets picked this week, we'd need at least three 20mil+ scores, preferably ALLs or even second loop scores. You can be sure SiK and MMM will have very high scores if it does get selected, which means that we'd need to be in the 3rd, 4th and 5th place positions to stand any chance of retaining our title.
I'm not sure if the other two games would beat Progear in the vote. Garegga maybe, RFJ less likely.

I'm good at RFJ, okay at Progear and slightly worse at Garegga.. I think RFJ would be the best option, to win the tournament, Garegga wouldn't be the best idea (Plasmo?) and Sik always wins but then Progear (Sik.. will win, but there is no gain there) but we are not that good at Progear.
It's too tough, but I'd like to go for RFJ.

I would say garegga is more popular than RFJ, but it'll still scare everybody else away who have limited experience on it. It definitely won't get the floating voters this week.
My personal preference order is RFJ > Progear > Garegga, but I'm not sure what cowapes are best at here. I'm not sure if MMM has put a lot of time into Progear or not, and Khoa has a decent 25mil at it. RFJ means we get the alamone show and I have no doubt twiddle will pop a decent score out and sik always does well. I think garegga could be our best option if either DEL or STG have experience at it.
I'd advise everyone to practice Progear if they have free time this week regardless of how we vote however...

freddie wrote; I think garegga could be our best option if either DEL or STG have experience at it. That would be true for me if I did have experience on Garegga, but I don't. Progear is Cave, so that's most likely the way things will go. Yet again I'll be away for that weekend, so I'll practice Progear now 'til the start of the playing week. Strangely though, Progear is the one HORI that doesn't fit me EDIT:- Especially when there's a huge lag when you press the A button down. My plane zips around at full speed for half a sec before the A slowdon decides to kick in. (That's on the USA version I've downloaded). The Jap version doesn't load up for me for some reason - I downloaded the Jap zip from Romnation and it dloaded in seconds, then didn't work when I browsed and ran it...? Is there another Progear Jap download link around??

I have to get reacquainted with Progear at present. The only thing that that helps is that it is easily emulated on a PSP. There is some talk of RFJ in the voting thread however, which is encouraging.

DEL, I've uploaded the two progear roms here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=CY7U7K82I don't know what mame version you are using but these are working perfectly on mameplus 0.125. Give a shout if they still aren't working mate. Smraedis, what are you scoring on stage 1? I think practicing to get a solid 2 mil from the first stage is a good target. Mulletgeezer said last year the scoring is very much like Guwange in that you need a good strong base score from the first stages to take advantage of the later levels.

Thanks for that freddie!
By the way, I dloaded Garegga and it is set to no extends. Surely this isn't default, how do I access the config menu on mame Garegga? F2 doesn't seem to work. EDIT:- I see I need the Batlega set. I'll try this....
